Bertrand Doeuk

Director

Bertrand Doeuk, Director and Founder of The Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic™, has devoted his time and commitment in an exclusive area of treatment for headaches and migraines in Brisbane, Australia.

Bertrand has been titled as “Certified Practitioner” by two internationally recognised manual therapy institutions: Mulligan Concepts and Watson Headache® institute. With these added manual therapy skills, he has been able to help countless patients recover from all forms of acute and chronic headache and migraine conditions.

Mattias McAndrew

Senior Clinician

Mattias McAndrew, the second Headache Clinician to join the team at The Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic™, has developed a passion in helping people that suffer from migraines and other forms of headache, as well as other musculoskeletal injuries or conditions.

With a background of exercise prescription, Mattias has also completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (honours) through the University of Queensland, one of the leading schools of physiotherapy in the world. Post graduation, Mattias has continued study to become formally recognised as a trained Watson Headache® practitioner, a trained Mulligan Concepts Practitioner and is also trained in dry needling and Western Acupuncture.

Ariel Lee

Senior Clinician

Ariel Lee is one of our senior headache clinicians and brings a wealth of experience to the table. Ariel is known for outstanding results and her empathetic nature.

She has completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours from The University of Queensland, one of the leading schools of physiotherapy worldwide. Ariel has acquired knowledge and skills in providing evidence-based practice. During her studies, Ariel attended numerous courses to continually improve herself.

Dominic Forsythe

Senior Clinician

Dominic comes to Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic after gaining a wide range of experience, both in Australia and New Zealand. After graduating in 2013 from Auckland University of Technology, in New Zealand, he started work as a sports physiotherapist.

This allowed him to learn from expert physiotherapists with both Olympic and professional sports backgrounds. With this work, Dominic was able to travel both domestically and internationally with sports teams. Since then, Dominic has worked in private clinics in Melbourne, where he further developed his clinical assessment and treatment skills. These experiences have led to Dominic developing an interest in headache and migraine treatment. 

Senior Clinician

David Appleby is one of our senior clinicians, who brings a strong understanding of headache and migraine disorders as well as his friendly personality to the team.

He has completed two degrees at Griffith University on the Gold Coast of Queensland; the Bachelors degree of Exercise Science and a Masters degree of Physiotherapy. During his studies and research he was granted the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence.

Since then, David has treated a wide range of patients with musculoskeletal disorders, which brought him to focus on headaches and migraines. During his career, he has completed several post-graduate courses, including training in the Watson Headache approach under Dr. Dean Watson and attendance of the 2021 International Watson Headache Symposium.

Sascha Halpin

Associate Clinician

Sascha Halpin is an associate clinician at Brisbane Headache and Migraine clinic.

During university, he completed two degrees at Griffith University in the Health and Knowledge Precinct on the Gold Coast of Queensland. In that time, he completed a Bachelors degree of Exercise Science and a Masters degree of Physiotherapy. Since then, Sascha has worked and treated a wide range of patients with musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. During his career, he has founded a high passion in the field of headaches and migraines, as well as the mitigation of chronic pain.

Douglas Woo

Associate Clinician

Douglas is one of our associate clinicians at Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic.

Doug completed the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at Bond University and studied a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. During his career, Douglas has worked with a variety of patients, including neurological patients, which piqued his interest in headache disorders.

Doug employs his compassion and dedication to develop the best possible treatment outcomes for individuals to achieve their goals. Douglas will utilize his knowledge in headache treatment, biomechanics, and neurological rehab to adapt every plan for the optimal outcome.

Piumi Herath

Associate Clinician

Piumi is one of our associate headache clinicians at the Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic.
Piumi brings a wealth of knowledge from experience as a physio and is particularly passionate about management of headaches and migraines.

She is known for her warm and empathetic nature which radiates to create a supportive environment in which all individuals are heard and understood.

Darcy Jorgensen

Associate Clinician

Darcy Jorgensen is one of our associate clinicians at the Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic.

Known for his calm and friendly demeanour, Darcy strives to build long-lasting professional relationships with his clients.

Darcy is passionate about understanding your condition in depth, to provide you with an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan.

Alana Mills

First Impression

Alana is one of the newest practice managers at BHMC. She brings her bright personality to the team, as well as experience in team leadership.
Alana originally comes from Northern New South Wales, but moved to Brisbane 5 years ago and hasn’t looked back

Lynette Wong

First Impression

Lynette is currently studying physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. She hopes to graduate in November 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy (Honours) and wishes to pursue a career as a physiotherapist.

She completed her work experience at our clinic and officially joined the Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic team in February 2020, as one of our receptionists.

Lynette is a front staff representative and will greet you warmly on your arrival.

Tammy Tang

First Impression

Tammy is currently studying physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. She completed her work experience at our clinic and officially joined the Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic team in December 2019, as one of our receptionists.

Tammy is our front of staff representative, who will always greet you upon your arrival and ensure you have the best possible experience at our clinic.

Hussan Al-Hashemy

First Impression

Hussan is currently studying physiotherapy at the University of Queensland and aims to graduate in November 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy (Honours). He is incredibly passionate about health care and wishes to pursue a career as a Physiotherapist.

Hussan is our front of staff representative, who will always warmly welcome you upon your arrival and ensure you are well looked after at our clinic.

Rebecca Parkes

First Impression

Rebecca possesses a diverse background in customer service, bringing over 17 years of experience to the team. Rebecca officially joined in April 2021 and is passionate about being part of a company that improves the lives of so many headache and migraine sufferers in Brisbane.

Prior to joining us, Rebecca worked in several fields, including department stores, retail and pharmacy. In her spare time, you will find Rebecca with her husband and three children enjoying art, the outdoors or even sampling her favourite bubble teas! 

Janice Cheung

First Impression

Janice currently attends the University of Queensland, studying physiotherapy, and aims to graduate in November 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy (Honours). She wishes to pursue a career as a physiotherapist with her passion in health science. She also has close to 2 years of experience working in a customer service role.

Janice has officially joined the Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic team in July 2021 as one of our administrators, and will always make you feel comfortable and welcomed upon arrival.

Violette Nguyen

First Impression

Violette would describe herself simply by saying “The best things come in small packages.” She may not be large of stature, but she makes up for it with her big personality. Violette is known for her vibrant nature and ability to make patients feel at ease as they enter our clinic. Outside of work,

Violette is currently studying Physiotherapy and aims to pursue Medicine in the future.

Helen Lin

First Impression

Helen has been working in customer service for over 5 years. Helen officially joined the team at Brisbane Headache and Migraine Clinic in October 2019, as our friendly receptionist. Helen is our front of staff representative and you will see her in reception, greeting you as you walk through our doors upon arrival. She will offer you a glass of refreshing water with lemon and make you comfortable before your appointment commences.

Tracey Ly

First Impression

Tracey is one of our wonderful administration staff, who kindly greets everyone who walks through the doors of our clinic with a big smile. Like many of our admin staff, Tracey is currently studying Physiotherapy and brings a keen interest into healthcare and meeting the needs of our patients. This insight equips her to answer questions from members of the public and find how we can best serve them.

Jaide Rynne

First Impression

Jaide is one of our many wonderful administrators. Known for being personable and caring, she will make you feel welcome from the moment you enter the clinic. Like many of the reception staff, Jaide is currently studying physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. She is expected to graduate in 2025 and hopes to pursue a career in pediatric physiotherapy.
